How Your Balance Works During Gameplay
Balance Display Elements
When playing Blackjack+ on PeakPlay, you'll see three key elements at the top of your screen:
Balance: Your current available funds
Stake: The amount you've bet on the current hand
Awarded: Winnings from the current hand (when applicable)
Step-by-Step Betting Process
Before Placing a Bet
Your full balance is displayed at the top of the screen
Example: Starting balance = 1,000 coins
When You Select Your Bet Amount
IMPORTANT: Your balance does NOT change at this stage
The bet amount appears next to "Stake" at the top of the screen
You can increase or decrease this amount, and the Stake line updates accordingly
Example: You select 50 coins to bet
Balance remains: 1,000 coins (unchanged)
Stake shows: 50 coins
When You Hit "Deal"
This is when your bet is actually placed and deducted
Your balance decreases by the stake amount
Example after hitting Deal with 50 coin stake:
Balance becomes: 950 coins (1,000 - 50)
Stake shows: 50 coins
During and After the Hand
The Balance and Stake lines do not update until you start a new hand
If you win, the amount appears in the "Awarded" line
Example with winning hand:
Balance still shows: 950 coins (doesn't update yet)
Stake still shows: 50 coins (doesn't update yet)
Awarded shows: 100 coins (your 50 coin bet returned + 50 coin winnings)
When You Hit "New Game" or "Rebet"
This is when all the lines update to show your new totals
Example after hitting New Game following a win:
Balance updates to: 1,050 coins (950 + 100 awarded)
Stake resets to: 0 coins (or your rebet amount)
Awarded resets to: 0 coins
If You Close the Game Before Starting a New Hand
Your balance is updated correctly in the background
However, you might not see this update on the game screen before closing
Your account balance is always accurate - the game screen display timing doesn't affect your actual funds
Detailed Win/Loss Examples
If You Win:
Stake deducted when you hit Deal: 1,000 β 950 coins
Hand concludes, you win 50 coins
Awarded shows: 100 coins (50 coin bet returned + 50 coin winnings)
After hitting New Game: Final Balance = 1,050 coins
If You Lose:
Stake deducted when you hit Deal: 1,000 β 950 coins
Hand concludes, you lose
Awarded shows: 0 coins
After hitting New Game: Final Balance = 950 coins
If You Push (Tie):
Stake deducted when you hit Deal: 1,000 β 950 coins
Hand concludes in a tie
Awarded shows: 50 coins (bet returned, no winnings)
After hitting New Game: Final Balance = 1,000 coins
Common Misunderstanding - The Math That Trips Players Up
The Error Many Players Make: Players often calculate their expected balance by adding their winnings to their ORIGINAL balance, forgetting that they already spent coins on the bet.
Incorrect Calculation:
"I started with 1,000 coins"
"I bet 50 coins and won 50 coins"
"So I should have 1,000 + 50 + 50 = 1,100 coins"
This is wrong because it ignores the 50 coins that were spent on the bet
Correct Calculation:
"I started with 1,000 coins"
"I spent 50 coins on a bet, leaving me with 950 coins"
"I won 50 coins in profit"
"So I have 950 + 50 = 1,000 + 50 profit = 1,050 coins"
Mathematical Breakdown
Starting Balance | Bet Amount | Balance After Bet | Winnings | Total Awarded | Final Balance |
1,000 coins | 50 coins | 950 coins | 50 coins | 100 coins | 1,050 coins |
Key Point: The 100 coins "Awarded" includes both your 50 coin bet being returned AND your 50 coin winnings. Your net gain is 50 coins.
Answering Player Concerns About the Math
"Why doesn't my balance update immediately when I win?"
Answer: The game waits until you start a new hand to update the display lines. This is intentional design to let you see exactly what happened in the previous hand. Your actual account balance is always tracked correctly in the background - the display timing doesn't affect your real money.
"I won 50 coins but only got 50 extra instead of 100 extra"
Answer: You did get your full winnings! The confusion comes from not accounting for the coins you spent on the bet. When you bet 50 coins, those coins are no longer yours - they're at risk. If you win 50 coins, you get a 50 coin profit. Your net gain is exactly what you won.
"The 'Awarded' amount includes my bet - that's not winnings!"
Answer: The "Awarded" line shows the total amount being returned to you (your bet plus any winnings). This is standard gaming practice. Think of it like this: when you place a bet, you're putting those coins at risk. If you win, you get back both your original coins that were at risk AND your winnings as a reward. The "Awarded" amount shows your complete return - everything you receive back.
"This system seems designed to confuse players"
Answer: Actually, this system provides MORE transparency than alternatives. You can see:
Exactly how much you've risked (Stake)
Exactly how much you're getting back (Awarded)
Your available funds at each step (Balance)
Alternative systems that only show "net change" (+50 coins) would actually give you less information about what's happening with your coins.
"My balance updates 'in the background' when I close - how do I know the math is correct?"
Answer: You can verify this easily:
Note your balance before starting the game
Play several hands and track your wins/losses manually
Close the game and check your account balance
The math will always match your manual calculations
The background update simply ensures your account balance is always accurate, even if you close the game before hitting "New Game."
How to Track Your Play and Verify Calculations
Manual Verification Method
To prove the system is working correctly, try this tracking method:
Before you start: Write down your starting balance
For each hand: Record your bet amount and the outcome
Calculate manually: Starting balance - total bets + total winnings
Compare: Your manual calculation should match your final balance
Sample Tracking Sheet
Hand | Starting Balance | Bet Amount | Outcome | Winnings | Running Balance |
1 | 1,000 coins | 50 coins | Win | 50 coins | 1,050 coins |
2 | 1,050 coins | 50 coins | Loss | 0 coins | 1,000 coins |
3 | 1,000 coins | 50 coins | Win | 50 coins | 1,050 coins |
Quick Mental Check
After any winning hand, ask yourself:
"How many coins did I risk?" (your bet amount)
"How many coins profit did I make?" (your winnings)
"So my balance should increase by exactly the profit amount"
If you bet 50 coins and won 50 coins, your balance increases by 50 coins (the profit), not 100 coins.

Summary
Key Points to Remember:
When you select a bet amount, it shows as "Stake" but your balance doesn't change yet
When you hit "Deal," your balance decreases by the stake amount - this is when you actually place the bet
If you win, the "Awarded" amount includes both your original bet being returned AND your winnings
Your balance only increases by your actual profit (winnings), not by the total awarded amount
Display updates happen when you start a new hand, but your account balance is always accurate
The Bottom Line: The system works exactly like any gaming platform. When you bet coins, they're spent. When you win, you get profit. The "Awarded" line shows your total return (bet + winnings), but your balance only goes up by the profit amount.
